Granatum
Common Name : Pomegranate
Botanical Name : Punica granatum
Color :

It offers a range of hues, from a warm, long-lasting yellow when combined with alum, to deep, almost black tones when iron is used.
Beyond its coloring properties, pomegranate is rich in tannins, making it suitable for use as an organic mordant. Furthermore, when combined with other botanical dyes, it improves their longevity and strength.
Pomegranate peel can be used without an additional mordant to dye fabric. It is specifically suited to plant fibers such as linen and cotton.
Furthermore, fabrics dyed with this natural dye have antibacterial, antimicrobial, and astringent properties, qualities inherent to natural dyes that synthetic dyes lack.
